Hi, I’m Sylvia.
Before moving to the Bay Area, I remember packing an unreasonable number of sketchbooks and paintings from my childhood bedroom.
Creativity started as a hobby. I drew, painted, played guitar, piano, and drums, and eventually built a custom clothing business on sheer will, caffeine, and self-taught Photoshop. For a long time, though, that was all it was.
During an internship at an e-commerce consultancy, I watched survey data turn into a layout recommendation, then into a real change in how people shopped. That’s when I found a space where I didn’t have to choose between spreadsheets and a sketchbook.
That realization took me to San Francisco on an academic excellence scholarship to study interaction design at Academy of Art University.
Today, I bring business, data, and design together to create experiences that feel clear, thoughtful, and human.
I love talking design. Let’s chat :)

I started a Global Business BA at Universidad de Monterrey.
I spent an exchange semester at Montpellier Business School in France, getting the ‘global’ in Global Business.

I joined Unmade Design Group in Monterrey as a UX researcher.
I spent 75 hours on Python, big data, and machine learning at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

I graduated cum laude and closed out two years of research at Unmade.

I moved to San Francisco for an Interaction and UX/UI master’s degree at Academy of Art University.

I’m strongest where research, product thinking, and interaction design overlap. I use user evidence and business context to define the problem, then translate both into clear design decisions and testable experiences.
Across multiple clients at Unmade, I processed roughly 100,000 responses from pre- and post-purchase customer surveys, identified recurring patterns, and translated them into UX and CRO findings for stakeholder reports.
Research helps me decide what problem deserves attention, which assumptions need testing, and what should change between iterations. I use it to give design decisions a clear reason, not just a visual direction.
I use AI to accelerate exploration, synthesis, prototyping, and implementation, especially when it helps me test more possibilities earlier. I verify sources and outputs, and I keep research interpretation and product decisions my responsibility.
I work comfortably in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Tailwind, Astro, Git, and AI-assisted development. It helps me prototype realistically, communicate with engineers, and catch gaps between design and implementation.
